International Day for Ear and Hearing Health, endorsed by the World Health Organization, is celebrated annually on March 3. Hearing loss is considered the most common sensory disability in the world. According to WHO, approximately 360 million people suffer from deafness and hearing impairment. The causes of hearing loss can be many factors - genetic disorders, chronic infections of the ear, rubella, measles, mumps, meningitis - as well as the effects of certain medications and harmful environmental factors, especially noise.
The purpose of the action is to inform the public about the factors that lead to hearing loss, and measures to prevent hearing diseases.
March 7, 12 and 14, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Leningrad State Budgetary Health Institution “Research Clinical Institute of Otorhinolaryngology named after L.I. Sverzhevsky Department of Health of the city of Moscow ”(Zagorodnoye sh. 18a p. 2) events were organized for people over 18 years of age:
“Open door days”: consultations of doctors of otorhinolaryngologists and deaf experts
Audiological research (if necessary);
lecture on the prevention of diseases of the ear and hearing at 10:00
